In case your iPhone's screen goes completely blank and device does not respond, it doesn't necessarily mean your phone's bricked. Perhaps it's just that the battery is fully discharged or the system has virtually crashed with the Black/Blue screen. This problem can often be quickly resolved.
First, you must ensure that the device battery is sufficiently charged. If it's merely a battery issue, the device will respond after just a few minutes of being connected to the adapter. If that does not help, it's possible the operating system of the device has crashed. Resetting the iPhone is helpful in this case. For this, press the Power button and the Home key together for about 20 seconds until the device restarts with the Apple symbol. All data remains intact in most cases. Otherwise you can restore the contents from a backup via iTunes or iCloud.
If even this doesn't work, try to establish a connection to iTunes in service mode. Connect the device to the PC with a USB cable and open iTunes. Start the device and keep the power switch and Home key depressed till you can see the display to restart the device. Then release the power switch but keep the Home key pressed. now a driver is installed on the PC with which iTunes can respond to the iPhone externally in EDI mode. The operating system can be restored in this service state. Finally, you'll once again need to press the key combination for resetting the device until the system restarts in normal mode with the Apple symbol. You should be good to go.
