News-related push messages/notifications from the Facebook app on Android are often delayed. The problem lies with Facebook itself. Those who use other platforms such as BlackBerry or iOS don't face this issue. If you have a BlackBerry device, use it to log-in to Facebook.
After that , you will receive push messages faster on Android. But if you don't own a BlackBerry device, you can use a stimulator that can be downloaded from 'http://us.blackberry.com/sites/developers/resources/simulators.html' Scroll down on the page and download the smartphone simulator and select a model (for example Torch 9860) and OS. The UI of the simulator mimics a smartphone that you can control. Go to Social Networking and log in to your Facebook account.
As soon as your profile is displayed, you can exit the simulator. After sometime, the push messages from Facebook should arrive faster on your Android phone.
Peace!!
